Messaging to Remember: The Past and Future of Holocaust and Genocide Education
20 - 21 November 2011Brought together leading international scholars to look at the past sixty years of Holocaust education in Europe and the US, this conference aimed not only to offer a critical understanding of how the world’s youth are taught about traumatic events, but also to develop new methods, media and tools for teaching future generations.
Panels focused on the different dimensions of transmission of history of the Holocaust and considered the incorporation of print, radio, photography, film, Youtube, and the internet into education about the Shoah. Other more recent genocides were also examined and considered for their impact on the future of the Holocaust remembrance and education.
Visit the Messaging to Remember website to see footage from the event.
